An offering from Grenade that is higher than their average in protein – coming in at a whopping 23.2 grams of protein.
This “Caramel Chaos” bar is a triple layered bar consisting of protein nougat, a healthy topping of with caramel, coated in milk chocolate and sprinkled with protein crispies. In addition the odd chocolate chip thrown into the mix.
Poor consistency & a dry mouthed affair
For us – the one thing that this bar does – is occasionally get it right. Maybe we got a bad bar – as I could see how this could work well. But for us it doesn’t.
After the initial caramel hit – it becomes a chewy dry mouthed affair.
Occasionally we’d get the crisp of a protein crispie piece of their chocolate chips – but they were so few and far between we forgot they even were meant to be in there in the first place.
The combiation of the protein nougat and caramel layer and no biscuit or bite just did not work for us.
Nutritionally we can’t knock it – but as a bar trying to step out from a popular flavour – this does not deliver.
